Learn a variety of techniques for fabric and paper to create beautiful backgrounds. You will create luscious paintings and collage layered with color, words, letterforms and symbols. Explore building layers of texture with stencils, stamped patterns and accents of written words/phrases.
Supply List: • Favorite heavy bodied, fluid and/or ink acrylic colors • Misc. papers to use to paint and dye 20-30 pieces – heavy drawing paper, cardstock, watercolor paper, copy paper, ledger, sheet music, paper bags, craft, graph and found papers. • 1/2 yd. Muslin or Kona cotton • 15- 2-ply white paper towels (Kirkland from Costco) • 2” flat brush (hardware store brushes work great) • 1” flat paint and various paint brushes • Script liner brush • Plastic paint scrapper • 2- 1” foam brushes • 2 water containers • Brayer • Gesso • Black chisel tip sharpie, fine tip permanent black pens • Scissors • Painting smock
Optional supplies to enhance your project: • Doodling tools- (I will have some to share) prismacolor pencils, gel pens, glitter/paint markers • unmounted stamps, stencils, texture tools for printing
