Spend the day painting, collage and doodling. The artwork created in this workshop will be used to build the journal on Sunday.

Sunday, SEPTEMBER 12, 2010 - ART journals
We'll make a simple stitched journal/portfolio and incorporate a few art journaling jumpstarts. Create your very own textile sketchbook with hand-painted patchwork art quilt covers. You’ll paint, collage, and stitch paper and fabric!

$100/day =$200
$10/day for lunch payable to host
The workshop is 2-day. There is also an option to take only DAY 1.
You will receive address, directions once registered.
RESERVE your spot with a $50 deposit, refundable deposit by AUGUST 23.
FINAL PAYMENT is due by SEPTEMBER 3.

5-7 acrylic paint colors
30 sheets misc. papers up to 12"x18"(examples: heavy drawing paper, copy paper, newsprint, black/white Xerox copies, watercolor, graph paper, envelopes, maps, USPS/Fedex tyvec envelopes, manila folders, magazine pictures, black paper, cardboard, ledger paper, painted papers, newspaper… things you have collected. Try not to buy any new paper)
1/2 yd of muslin or drill cloth
1 brown grocery bag
two 1” foam brushes
plastic paint scraper
soft rubber brayer
water container
painting smock
10 favorite markers
black chisel tip sharpie
DAY two supplies
painted paper/fabrics from DAY 1
Scissors

roll of color masking tape or duct tape
a collection of you...fabric remnants, photos, paper, beads. bring a few items that will fit in a quart size ziploc bag.
{optional}sewing machine- if you would like to do machine sewing please bring your machine. if not, you can hand sew the journal.
